I am a bit of a Doseone fanboy. cLOUDDEAD, Subtle, Themselves, the collaboration with Boom Bip; all gold. While Subtle’s For Hero: For Fool ranks among my favourite albums of all time, the new 13 & God album cements that outfits reputation as perhaps the most consistent, able and nuanced musical project for Adam Drucker.
If you missed it the first time ‘round, this year’s reunion of Themselves and The Notwist has garnered enough critical attention to be regarded as A Big Deal. Rightly so, as Own Your Ghost is a gorgeous and fraught collection of modern pop songs, unlike anything since their 2005 debut. 13 & God are more than the Anticon aesthetic bolted onto The Notwist’s pretty, simmering electro-folk; on Own Your Ghost particularly, their songcraft and energy is unique, a sound neither act could conjure alone.
Armoured Scarves is a choice cut from Own Your Ghost; an incantation as apparently simple as it is intricately layered, both bewildering and beautiful. Do please click and enjoy before purchasing the album from your local retailer. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

My name is Pete. I am using this small area of the internet to post things about "popular music". Mostly image posts accompanied by mp3s, but the occasional rant, review or linkdump will appear.
